Cement is one of the hardest industries to decarbonise. Through a new partnership with UK-based Leilac Limited, Ambuja Cements is advancing efforts to reduce emissions in this critical sector. The project aims to develop one of the world’s largest commercial-scale low-carbon cement pathways at Sanghipuram in Kutch. It will test carbon capture and hybrid electric heating technologies to cut emissions, increase the use of renewable energy, and reduce reliance on coal. Accelerating the transition to clean energy and tackling climate change is a key pillar of the UK-India partnership over the next decade.
