Today we’ve published a new data report on UKRI investment in Doctoral Studentships and Fellowships. The report provides information on UKRI’s current and historic annual spend, alongside associated starts and stock at both aggregate and council level. Over the next four years we will be investing to maintain national capability across the breadth of disciplines and to meet critical workforce needs. The budget allocated to collective talent is increasing significantly. This will enable us to maintain the overall number of people we support, to meet the appropriate but rising costs of supporting doctoral researchers, to ensure doctoral training remains open, attractive and sustainable and uphold the vital role of early career researchers in driving innovation and economic growth.”
