We’re accelerating our response to one of the battlefield’s fastest-growing threats: attack drones. This week, Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry Luke Pollard MP witnessed testing in Jordan of the new British-built Skyhammer interceptor missile and launcher system. The trial follows a multi-million-pound contract with veteran-led UK start-up Cambridge Aerospace to procure Skyhammer interceptor missiles for the UK Armed Forces. Designed specifically to counter Shahed-style attack drones, Skyhammer offers a range of 30km and a maximum speed of 700km/h – strengthening the UK’s rapidly evolving counter-UAS capability.
