The UK has signed a landmark £4.6 billion contract with Japan and Italy to deliver the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), a sixth-generation stealth fighter jet entering service from 2035. For the approximately 600 organisations already part of the GCAP supply chain, this is a vote of confidence in UK industry. For the 4,500 people whose jobs are connected to this programme, it's security.
