Summer Business Analyst @ LSEG | BSc Economics and Finance @ Queen Mary University of London

Today marks my last day as part of the Data & Analytics Industrial Placement programme at Lloyds Banking Group. Throughout my placement, I've been working in the Data Management space, initially as part of the Data Quality (DQ) team and later as part of the wider Data Management, AI, Automation and Reporting team. Here are some of my key highlights from the past year! 📈 Built a Python forecasting model to predict weekly data issue volumes, applying time series modelling to a real business problem 📊 Delivered Power BI dashboards for Ataccama DQ monitoring, AI Use Cases Backlog and Data Issue Tracking 💵 Co-built a tokenised solar-ownership MVP as part of the NGIL Emerging Technology Pioneers Programme — more on this below 👇 The NGIL Emerging Technology Pioneers Programme was an 8-week innovation sprint led by the CTO function in partnership with D2C Investments, where 27 graduates (selected from over 70 applicants) were split into feature teams to research, prototype, and deliver an MVP exploring how emerging technology could power a new investment proposition, enabling multiple investors to fund a single borrower through fractional ownership of real-world assets. My team, 3lockchain, built a tokenised solar-ownership platform on Hyperledger Fabric, combining blockchain-based fractional ownership with an agentic AI help layer to guide investors through the process. On the business side, I led market and customer research, defined the homeowner and investor value propositions, mapped revenue and token flow models, and built the ESG and strategic case aligned to LBG's sustainability ambitions, translating this into a full-service design blueprint across weekly sprint cycles. We presented twice: first to the judging panel, then to an audience of 150+ colleagues across the Group. Manuel Pardavila, D2C Investments Business Platform Lead, gave us great feedback on our use of InvestAI principles and backed our proposition. Thank you to my teammates for the energy, creativity, and collaboration throughout: Connor Boyd, Takai Bunbury, Klaidas Mileris, Lila M., Zoe Neill, Aneeq A., and Oliver Brown. I've since had the opportunity to continue this work, contributing to a live tokenisation initiative as part of the Data Science & AI team, building a platform to enable real-world asset fractionalisation. Thank you to our programme lead, Bea Schofield FRSA, our judging panel, Babs Yomi A., Manuel Pardavila and Michelle Shaw, and the sponsors and experts who supported the programme throughout. Finally, a huge thank you to Mojisola Olawepo ITIL®. CAITL®. and Anukansha Gagneja for your guidance early in the placement, and to Beverley Vincent and Harpreet Makkar for your support since. And to everyone across Data Quality, AI & Automation, and Reporting, thank you for making it such a supportive environment to learn and grow in. #YearInIndustry #DataAnalytics #LloydsBankingGroup #EmergingTechnology #Blockchain #EarlyCareers
