Growing resilient forests — for the fourth time together with Alstom and Bergwaldprojekt e.V.: Last week in the Harz we planted 1,400 silver birch (Betula pendula). Supported by 32 colleagues from Alstom and cross-functional teams from across our organization, we combined know-how and hands-on effort to make every sapling count. As a pioneer species, silver birch stabilizes soils, improves the microclimate, creates habitats and kick-starts natural succession — laying the groundwork for diverse, climate-ready mixed forests and strengthening ecosystem resilience on recovering sites. This collaboration also reflects Alstom’s strong commitment to environmental protection and the journey toward climate-neutral mobility on rail — with efficient train solutions that move people and goods sustainably. Growing together. We’re happy to join again next year. 🌱 Thanks to Lucie Pietzsch-Desjardins for your strong support. Yasin Haybat Dr. Alexander Vogel Dr. Vincent Kulke Christian Reimer David Miosga and complete team: Thank you for this meaningful event together! 💪 Thanks to Anna Buchmann and @Stephen from Bergwaldprojekt e.V. again for the fantastic organisation. #togetherinmotion #teamalstom #CSR
