Privileged to kick off Day 1 of our 6th Citizen Police Academy (Class 2026-01) with more than 30 engaged and diverse residents from across our community. Grateful for the outstanding work by our @lasvegasdps CPA staff and our volunteers, especially Jaclyn Archambault and Lt Jopalian who continue to set expectations - solid work by everyone 👊🏻. Their commitment to community partnerships reflects the culture we are building at the City of Las Vegas Department of Public Safety. Over the coming weeks, participants will learn what makes our department unique, including our strategic initiatives, technology efforts, training, different divisions, operational challenges, data driven focus, and the history that shaped this stellar organization. What stood out most today was the level of engagement by staff - to include our leadership team. That curiosity and openness to learn strengthens trust, legitimacy, and community connection. We are just as excited to learn from our CPA students as future community ambassadors and volunteers for our department.
