What kind of society are we building with robots and AI? 🤖 As robotics and AI move from science fiction into everyday life, they’re shaping how we learn, work, interact and make decisions. But who benefits from these technologies? Could they help build fairer, more inclusive futures, or risk automating existing inequalities? Join UCL Computer Science on Tuesday 23 June for the Peter Kirstein Lecture 2026, where Dr Katie Winkle (Uppsala University) will explore the social impact of robotics and AI in: Designing Robots, Designing Society: Opportunity or Automating Inequality? Following the lecture, Katie will join Professor Yvonne Rogers (UCLIC) and Dr Victoria Austin (GDI Hub) for a live fireside discussion and audience Q&A on the future of human-centred AI, social justice and emerging technologies. The lecture event is followed by a reception. Coinciding with International Women in Engineering Day (#INWED), this year’s lecture features an all-female panel exploring the ethical and human dimensions of AI and robotics. 📍 UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health 🗓 Tuesday 23 June 2026 🕔 5pm 🎟 Free to attend in person or online Register for a place at https://lnkd.in/eaa2jTn7
