UCL’s senior delegation visited Tohoku University in Sendai, bringing together colleagues to strengthen collaboration across disaster science, neuroscience, quantum and innovation. The visit included thematic discussions across these priority areas, alongside an innovation meeting and a senior leadership discussion focused on the next phase of the UCL–Tohoku strategic partnership. A highlight of the visit was the signing of a new Memorandum of Agreement for a Double PhD in Disaster Science, marking an important step in expanding joint education and research activity. Building on recent senior-level engagement and a shared commitment to deepen collaboration, discussions focused on scaling joint research, strengthening student and researcher mobility, and developing new opportunities for international funding and industry engagement. We look forward to continuing to develop this partnership in support of shared priorities and global challenges. #UCLandJapan #UCL200 Geraint Rees, Lasana Harris, Neil Curson, Thomas S Miller, Robert Thompson, Will Lovegrove, UCL Innovation and Enterprise, UCL Faculty of Brain Sciences, UCL Engineering, UCL Faculty of Medical Sciences, London Centre for Nanotechnology
