We’re proud to see the launch of OZEN on the high street today - a new sensitive teeth product range based on UCL research! 🪥🦷 Developed at UCL's Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering (CNIE), OZEN takes a new approach in a consumer category that has seen little meaningful innovation since the 1990s... Tooth sensitivity affects around half the UK population and can have a real impact on everyday life, from eating and drinking to general comfort and wellbeing. UCLB worked with the academic team, Professor Marc-Olivier Coppens and Dr Niall Kent to protect the intellectual property, shape the commercial strategy and secure the right partner to take the technology to market. It’s a strong example of how university research can move beyond the lab to deliver practical benefits at scale. For us, this is what commercialisation is all about: helping great science become products and services that make a difference in people’s lives.
