Four UCL semiconductor ventures selected for competitive government-backed incubator. We’re proud to share that four ventures founded on UCL semiconductor research have been awarded places on #ChipstartUK, the highly competitive, government‑backed incubator supporting the UK’s most promising early‑stage semiconductor companies. Out of just 12 places nationally, four were awarded to UCL‑founded ventures, all emerging from research at the UCL Electronic and Electrical Engineering and the London Centre for Nanotechnology: a powerful endorsement of UCL’s role at the heart of the UK’s semiconductor and quantum ecosystem. Congratulations to Abacqus, Orbicom, Altro Photonics, Nibras Communications, whose technologies are explained in the story below, along with photos from yesterday’s incredible #ChipStartUK event. At UCLB, we’ve worked alongside these teams over the past two years to: ✔️ protect and develop IP ✔️ secure early Proof of Concept funding ✔️ support founder development through our Ideas to Opportunities (I‑O) programme ✔️ connect teams to mentors, partners and investors 📖 Read the full story below: #UCL #UCLB #ChipStartUK #Semiconductors #Quantum #Photonics #DeepTech #ResearchToImpact #AcademicEntrepreneurship #WomenInSTEM Celine Baron, PhD Eleanor Barlow UCL Innovation & Enterprise Nathan Callcott Neil Curson Taylor Stock Mark Buitelaar Yilmaz Gul Stuart Holmes Michael Pepper Farah Comis Alfonso Ruocco Amany Kassem Zhixin Liu Zichuan Zhou Alex Bennett Paul Evans UCL Optical Networks Group UCL Institute of Communications and Connected Systems https://lnkd.in/emqzr8hG
