When Fig was rescued from a landfill, he was facing serious injuries, including a broken pelvis and femur. Thanks to the quick actions of his rescuers, Solano County Animal Control, Solano County Animal Care, the UC Davis Fracture Program for Rescue Animals, and our orthopedic surgery team, Fig received the care he needed to heal. Today, he's thriving in his forever home. His family says he's affectionate, playful, and full of personality. They're also helping him leave behind a few habits from his previous life (including a tendency to investigate the trash for snacks). Thankfully, Fig is learning that he no longer has to search for his next meal. We're grateful to everyone who helped make this happy ending possible! #UCDavisVetMed | #RescueDog | #SecondChances Video description: A rescued dog named Fig recovers from serious injuries after being found at a landfill. The video follows his journey through surgery, rehabilitation, foster care, and adoption, ending with scenes of Fig healthy, playful, and thriving with his forever family.
