What happens when high school students are given the opportunity to see veterinary medicine up close and imagine themselves in it? For Damien See, the experience solidified his goal of becoming a veterinarian. For Graciela Lozano, it opened her eyes to career paths she never knew existed. And for Ezekiel Ceballos, a 2025 participant now headed to Cornell University, it strengthened his commitment to return home and serve the agricultural communities that helped shape him. Those experiences were made possible through FarmVet2B, a hands-on internship program at UC Davis' Veterinary Medicine Teaching & Research Center in Tulare. Over the course of a week, students practiced suturing, worked with calves, explored diagnostic laboratories, visited local dairies, and met veterinary professionals serving rural communities. Programs like FarmVet2B do more than introduce students to careers. They help young people see a future for themselves in veterinary medicine while building the pipeline of professionals needed to support livestock producers in rural California. #UCDavisVetMed | #VeterinaryMedicine | #FarmVet2B https://lnkd.in/g36dRVN8
