Many congratulations to Professor Karina Pierce who has been elected as Vice-President of BISAS - British & Irish Society of Animal Science Karina Pierce is Professor of Dairy Production in UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science. She graduated with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science in 2001 and completed her PhD in animal nutrition in 2005, both from UCD. She currently serves as Director of External Relations in the School of Agriculture & Food Science at UCD and also coordinates the UCD degree programme in Dairy Business. Karina’s research focus is on the sustainability of dairy production systems and the role of dairy cow nutrition as a means of reducing the environmental impact of dairy production. Karina is a Board member of Bord Bia - The Irish Food Board and Chairs the Meat and Livestock Subsidiary Board. She is a past President of the Agricultural Science Association, a Nuffield Scholar (2019) and former Board member of Nuffield Ireland and Teagasc.
