An investigation initiated by Washington Field Office special agents has resulted in a former Fairfax County Chief Financial Officer pleading guilty to embezzling over $1.5 million from her employer. From December 2018 through December 2022, the defendant used fraudulent checks and wire transfers to embezzle funds later used for purchases at stores including Tiffany & Co., Saks Fifth Avenue, Versace, Burberry, Balmain, Cartier, and Louis Vuitton.
