Louisiana man David Danserau was arrested June 9 and booked on 500 counts of felony Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material depicting kids under age 13 and 50 counts of felony Sexual Abuse of an Animal. ICE HSI New Orleans, in coordination with the 22nd Judicial District Special Victims Unit Task Force and local law enforcement partners, arrested Danserau after a disturbing cyber tip led to discovering extensive child sexual abuse material and evidence of sexual abuse to an animal. HSI’s extensive experience with child exploitation cases made it uniquely qualified to provide forensic supoort in the ongoing investigation. If convicted, Danserau faces a 10 to 40 years in prison per count. “June is Internet Safety Month, and this case is an important reminder that predators are present every day on the same online platforms used by children in our community,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge Matt Wright of HSI New Orleans. “I encourage parents to review the steps they are taking to keep their children safe online and to report anything that does not seem right.” ➡️Parents and caregivers can get help protecting kids and teens online from our partners at Know2Protect.gov.
