In a TAKE IT DOWN ACT first, ICE HSI Newark and its Justice Department partners seized domain names June 12 that were publishing nude digital forgeries of famous women. The domains CFAKE(.com) and SOCFAKE(.com) published hundreds of thousands of deepfake pornographic images and videos of women without their consent, including fake sexual images of female celebrities, including heads of state, first ladies of multiple countries, royalty, legislators, government officials, journalists, television presenters, athletes, entertainers and others. Users browsed by tags that included topics like “rape,” “forced,” “degradation” and “slave.” “The TAKE IT DOWN Act was a priority for First Lady Melania Trump to stop the abuse and exploitation of women and children,” said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. “This is the first of many wins to stop these deepfake pornographic websites.”
