📣 Announcing the first round of 2025 Rahamimoff Travel Grant awardees! Every year, the BSF supports outstanding Ph.D. students from the U.S. and Israel whose research depends on access to facilities or expertise beyond their home country. The Rahamimoff Travel Grants don’t just fund travel - they create meaningful opportunities for collaboration, discovery, and scientific growth early in a researcher's career. In this first round of the year, ten students will cross borders to advance research in areas ranging from microbiology and oncology to computer science, quantum physics, and more. Here’s a look at the awardees and the work they’ll be pursuing: 🇮🇱 Bar-Ilan University ➤ Ms. Aya Awad will study the impact of BCL2 and Beclin1 interaction on autophagy-mediated antiviral host responses at UT Southwestern Medical Center. ➤ Mr. Yehuda Ben Shabo will conduct research on photo-electron spectroscopy and thermionic emission in a cryogenic storage ring at Stanford PULSE Institute. 🇮🇱 The Hebrew University of Jerusalem ➤ Mr. Bar Maron will investigate antimicrobial peptide mechanisms and resistance pathways using high-throughput screening at UMass Chan Medical School. 🇮🇱 Tel Aviv University ➤ Mr. Dror Jacobi will research model-based learning in multi-sensor environments of spatiotemporal fields for integrated sensing and communication at Columbia University and New York University. ➤ Mr. Rami Khoury will work on elucidating the molecular mechanisms involved in breast cancer and brain microenvironment facilitating brain metastasis at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. 🇮🇱 Weizmann Institute of Science ➤ Ms. Catalina Donic will explore mechanisms of commensal fungal competition and its therapeutic potential for candidiasis management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. ➤ Mr. Elad Gaver will investigate chirality control and deracemization in cubic metal–organic frameworks at New York University. ➤ Mr. Yonathan Kvich will work on energy-efficient ADC design via modulo sampling at Boston University. 🇺🇸 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ➤ Mr. Daniel Pascal will study the electrical induction of engineered therapeutic bacteria at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. 🇺🇸 University of California, Berkeley ➤ Ms. Serah Moldovsky will conduct research on dark matter in strongly coupled theories at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. These grants offer young researchers the chance to work closely with leading scientists, explore new methods and ideas, and strengthen the scientific ties between the U.S. and Israel. The next cohort will be announced in December - stay tuned! 🔗 Learn more about the program and past recipients: https://lnkd.in/e2fTZwQV 👉 Program details: https://lnkd.in/eJknyT7A #USIsraelScience #BSFTravelGrant #PhDResearch #ScientificCollaboration
