We are excited to spotlight the Stony Brook University HIL Teaching Lab, where future power electronics engineers are gaining hands-on experience with industry-grade tools.     During the Fall 2025 semester, Typhoon HIL was fully integrated into undergraduate and graduate coursework, guiding 31 students through a structured journey, from hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) fundamentals, open-loop motor drive simulation, hands-on controller HIL (C-HIL) implementation, and a closed-loop motor control final project. Students didn’t just learn the theory, but had an opportunity to build models from scratch, interface with real controllers, and validate control performance in real time.    This teaching lab is a great example of how HIL bridges the gap between classroom concepts and real-world engineering practice, preparing students with practical skills directly aligned with modern industry and research workflows. A big thank-you to the Stony Brook faculty, especially Prof. Fang Luo, and his team, including Deepi Singh, Shreepooja Singh, Nicholas Leak, Ali Anwar Panhwar, and Gaurav Bhansali, for pushing engineering education forward!   #TyphoonHILTeachingLab #EngineeringEducation #PowerElectronics #MotorDrives #DigitalEngineering #AcademiaIndustry
