Leaving home and travelling across states – whether for education or work – I realised that there are only a few things that still feel familiar in a new place. The language changes. The roads are different. The food has its own local flavour. Even something as simple as finding a place to eat can feel uncertain. Yet, every once in a while, I come across something that instantly feels the same as it did back home. A simple bottle of Coca-Cola from a nearby store carries that sense of familiarity that many of us don't think twice about. Whether it was a family road trip, a train journey across states, a small hill station café, a bustling city supermarket, or a tiny roadside shop, I somehow knew it would be there. And that's something I took for granted for years. Only recently did I realize that this isn't just about a beverage. Behind it is one of the world’s most extraordinary distribution networks, powered by the hard work of thousands of retailers, distributors, logistics partners, and sales teams working together to ensure that we can experience a little taste of home, wherever we are. For a consumer, it’s may just be a bottle on a shelf. But for a business, it’s the result of careful demand forecasting, a robust supply chain, strong retail partnerships, and flawless execution across markets. This is exactly the kind of business problem I am excited to work on in the coming years, because the best brands aren't remembered only for what they make—they're remembered because of the impact they have in their consumers life. Sometimes, the greatest achievement isn't creating demand. It's ensuring that no matter where life takes you, the experience you're looking for is already waiting.
