🎉 Celebrating the Conclusion of a Transformative 6-Month Data Science Internship at Genetic Web Technologies Pvt. Ltd.! I am thrilled to share the successful completion of my internship, a period of immense professional growth and hands-on learning in the data science lifecycle. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to meaningful projects that directly impacted the company's operational security and customer strategy. Here’s a glimpse into the key projects I owned and delivered: 🔒 1. Real-Time Fraud Detection System Architected and deployed a full-scale machine learning pipeline to classify fraudulent transactions from a dataset of 6M+ financial records. Engineered robust data preprocessing workflows to handle missing values, outliers, and severe class imbalance. Conducted a rigorous comparative analysis of algorithms (Logistic Regression, Random Forest, XGBoost), ultimately selecting and fine-tuning an XGBoost model for optimal precision and recall. Deployed the model as a scalable RESTful API, seamlessly integrating with live systems to flag suspicious transactions in real-time. Impact: This system is now actively bolstering the company's financial security, reducing losses, and safeguarding customer assets. 👥 2. Data-Driven Customer Segmentation Developed an end-to-end unsupervised learning solution to segment the customer base using a K-Means clustering model. Synthesized key behavioral and demographic features (Tenure, Balance, Engagement, Loan Activity, etc.) to identify distinct customer personas. Delivered actionable insights by segmenting customers into 4 strategic clusters. Built and deployed an interactive Power BI dashboard to visualize the segments, empowering the business team to leverage these insights daily. Impact: The dashboard is now instrumental in driving targeted marketing campaigns, enhancing customer engagement, and informing strategic decision-making. This internship was a masterclass in moving models from Jupyter notebooks to production environments. I significantly advanced my technical expertise in Python, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, API deployment (Flask/FastAPI), and Power BI, while strengthening my ability to translate complex results into clear, business-oriented recommendations.
