🏘️ Peter Pelzer, Tess Broekmans and Steffen Nijhuis advocate for radically rethinking building and living in order to solve the housing crisis. Their most important recommendation for policymakers is to stop using short‑term fixes and instead start considering sustainable, robust, long‑term solutions.   Solutions in which the landscape is used far more as a starting point, rather than what remains after building – so that the Netherlands will remain safe and habitable for our (great‑)grandchildren as well.   And solutions in which we think much better about alternative ownership rights and living arrangements, or about the possibility of building modularly, instead of simply adding even more of the same single‑family homes, of which we already have more than enough on paper.   👉 Discover how they are rethinking the way we build and live in this long read: https://edu.nl/a3dn9 #university #technology #innovation #engineering #science #research
