TSMC's commitment to driving a circular economy extends far beyond our daily business practices. We actively recycle electronic-grade chemicals like Isopropanol (IPA), Tetramethyl Ammonium Hydroxide (TMAH), and Cyclopentanone though our environmental dedication. In 2025, the Company partnered with suppliers to further develop waste liquid reuse technology for organic solvents, including Propylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether (PGME) and Propylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether Acetate (PGMEA), used in photolithography. This collaboration underscores our innovative approach to resource efficiency. Key operational procedures include: ✅Source segregation management ✅Process parameter optimization ✅Component spectral comparison These methods enable reprocessing waste liquids into electronic-grade PGME/PGMEA meeting TSMC's standards. By January 2026, this technology had been validated at Fab 15B and Fab 18A, with plans to extend it to additional fabs in mid-2026. The full implementation is expected to reduce new liquid procurement by 16,000 metric tons annually and lower carbon emissions by 31,100 metric tons, promoting cradle-to-cradle resource circularity.
