𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬. In the context of EMS, EHR, and Hospitals, AI is rapidly moving from a futuristic concept to a practical tool for improving patient outcomes. I had the honor of participating in a main-stage event at Wave 2026 focused on the future of AI and life-saving outcomes in the community health and safety industry.  A huge thanks to John Basmadjian for leading the season and partnership. Palo Alto Labs and ESO are working together to revolutionize community health and safety. We aren't just building software; we are building a safer, more accountable future. The key messages I shared at the event to make AI more impactful in healthcare: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤-𝐁𝐨𝐱 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬-𝐁𝐨𝐱: Leadership in the AI era requires radical transparency. If we don't understand the "why" behind the data, we can't lead the "how." 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 "𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫" 𝐭𝐨 "𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧" (The Operational Shift) : "Guardian AI"—systems that monitor for "drift" or human error in high-stress situations. If a paramedic is in the field and the AI detects a mismatch between symptoms and a proposed treatment based on historical data, it acts as a silent partner, not a replacement. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 "𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬" 𝐭𝐨 "𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬": We must manage AI with the same rigor we manage human clinicians—through credentialing, performance reviews, and continuous training.
