"We've seen the demos and it all looks very impressive. But what does Dynamics 365 CE actually do for a sales team day to day?" It's a fair question. The demos are always built around perfect data and ideal scenarios. The reality is a bit more nuanced, and in our view, more useful to understand before you commit to anything. Here's our honest answer. CE won't fix a broken sales process. If the fundamentals aren't there, such as clear ownership and an agreed way of moving deals forward, the software won't supply them. What it will do is make those gaps more visible. However, for a team that works reasonably well but is let down by its tools, the change to Dynamics 365 CE is tangible. For instance, follow-ups stop falling through the gaps because the system flags them before they go cold. And when deals move between people - which they usually do - the context moves with them rather than getting lost in an email chain. The time these changes give back to the team, and the opportunities they stop from disappearing, add up to something worth having.
