Edward G. Eid (1938-2006) emigrated from Egypt in 1957 with just $100. A state champion in the modern pentathlon, Ed made Colorado stronger and better as a successful soccer coach and the longtime President of the Colorado State Soccer Association and served on the board for the U.S. Woman’s Soccer Team in 1991 when it won the World Cup. He passed away 20 years ago today in Munich, Germany, while cheering on the U.S. team in a World Cup match. Greenberg Traurig, LLP U.S. Soccer Federation
