🎉 Exciting news from Yongatek Microelectronics: Successful TRISTAN eFPGA tape-out!! Embedded FPGA (eFPGA) fabrics have been on the rise in recent years – with adoption into SoCs, ASICs, and MCUs. It's no wonder – eFPGAs allow you to leverage the functionality of fixed hardware resources (e.g., CPU, bus controller) on the chip by coupling them with the inherent parallelism of the FPGA fabric. Plus, eFPGAs enable a modular and software-controlled approach, allowing the same FPGA fabric resources to be utilized for different purposes throughout the chip's lifetime. The same eFPGA fabric can be used as a DSP, an AI accelerator, or even to implement a CPU extension, such as an FPU or a custom instruction set.
