Honorary degrees conferred at Trinity College Dublin This recent milestone at Trinity College Dublin highlights the University’s celebration of 250 years of modern languages. As part of these celebrations, four honorary degrees, the University’s highest honour, were awarded in recognition of exceptional contributions to the field. The recipients are: - Professor Eda Sagarra, Trinity’s first female Chair of German and academic leader in German studies and university governance. - Professor David Little, scholar in applied linguistics and language education, recognised for his work in language teaching, policy and learner autonomy. - Professor Corinna Salvadori Lonergan, scholar of Italian studies, with a long career in teaching, research and literary scholarship at Trinity. - Hans-Christian Oeser, literary translator, known for his extensive translation work and engagement with Irish literature.
