A remarkable quartet of jewels by Lacloche Frères, the celebrated Parisian maison whose creations defined the elegance of the early 20th century. As jewellery expert Thomas Holman of Wartski explains, pieces such as these sit firmly within the world of the Art Deco period and the Roaring Twenties-an era of heightened glamour, wit, and modernity. One is reminded of Noel Coward and P.G. Wodehouse, of the "Bright Young Things" whose lives and soirées were shaped by precisely this kind of exuberant craftsmanship. Even Coward's own theatrical world captures the spirit of it perfectly-where a simple accessory might prompt the knowing question: "Is that by Cartier?"-and the equally telling reply, "No, it's by Lacloche." Treasure House Fair Media Ambassador 2026, Brinder Singh Dhatt (@thejewelgeek), highlights how jewels of this calibre would have been worn as statements of effortless sophistication—at once playful and impeccably composed. In an age defined by social movement, travel, and grand entertaining, Lacloche creations embodied a cosmopolitan glamour that moved seamlessly between London, Paris, and the Riviera. The house itself had established a presence on Bond Street by 1904, while also maintaining salons in Nice and Biarritz. Contemporary tourist guides to the Riviera even record the extent of their clientele, noting grand dukes, kings, queens, and princes among those who passed through their doors, an international elite who all, in one way or another, knew Lacloche.
