🦸🏻‍♂️My family loves superhero movies! When I learned about the Russo brothers’ connection to Case Western Reserve University, I had to keep my inner Marvel fan in check. CWRU is home to an extraordinary legacy, including a remarkable 16 Nobel laureates among its faculty and alumni, including Albert A. Michelson, the first American ever to receive a Nobel Prize. But if I’m being completely honest? Learning Anthony Russo and Joe Russo studied at CWRU made my inner movie nerd light up. Joe earned his MFA here, while Anthony attended CWRU’s law school before the brothers launched their filmmaking careers. This interview is a terrific read, highlighting how Cleveland, CWRU, and community helped shape two of the most influential filmmakers of our time.
