Autonomous mining is no longer the future – it’s happening 🚜 Our brand Scania Group and Australian mining services provider REGROUP are set to launch the first fleet of autonomous in-pit mining trucks in commercial operations. Together, they are rolling out a fleet of 11 autonomous Scania G 560 8x4 tippers to transport manganese ore and waste material – set to begin operations in 2025. This marks a significant advancement in safety and operational efficiency for the industry: Autonomous mining trucks will improve mining efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and reduce emissions. “With this fleet order, we bring to commercial reality the concept of an autonomous fleet working at scale in demanding real-world conditions.
