Automated and electric — two key technologies are coming together to shape the future of urban mobility. Our brand MAN Truck & Bus SE has reached an important milestone by successfully automating a fully electric city bus as part of the MINGA project. ⚡🚌 “This marks another important step toward automated urban mobility,” says Barbaros Oktay, Head of Bus at MAN Truck & Bus. Together with its technology partner ADASTEC Corp., MAN has equipped a Lion’s City 12 E with an Automated Driving System and is currently conducting extensive testing. The next step: pilot operations in Munich’s city traffic starting in autumn 2026 in collaboration with Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft (MVG), bringing automated public transport closer to real-world deployment.🚦 The project demonstrates how automation can make public transport more efficient, flexible, and accessible — while also addressing key challenges such as driver shortages and road safety.
