TII was pleased to join the National Transport Authority and Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien TD in Swords to mark the start of the R132 Connectivity Project. This upgrade is a key step in preparing for the delivery of MetroLink, Ireland’s largest public transport project, and developing a safer, more accessible urban corridor.   The R132 is being transformed from a four‑lane suburban road into a modern urban street with: • New signalised junctions at Estuary, Seatown and Malahide Road • Segregated cycling lanes and improved pedestrian routes on both sides • New crossing points to enhance safety • A reduced speed limit of 50 km/h • Dedicated bus lanes to support reliable public transport   🤝 TII, MetroLink, and Fingal County Council are working through a shared corridor approach, coordinating construction planning and detailed traffic modelling to keep Swords moving during the works.   📈 These improvements will support new homes, improve journey times and help shape Swords as a sustainable airport city for the region.
