TII is pleased to announce the successful completion of essential engineering works on the Luas Red Line tracks, which took place over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. These essential rail works involved replacing track at Belgard Junction, Cookstown/Bakers transition rail and Edilion replacement at Tallaght, to maintain safety and reliability on a section that carries high tram and traffic volumes. Belgard is a key junction on the Red Line where services split towards Tallaght and Saggart. The crossing at Belgard Road carries both tram movements and heavy road traffic, which accelerates rail wear. Replacing the track helps reduce future failures and unplanned service disruption. These improvements are vital to maintaining a safe and reliable tram service for all our customers. We understand that these works may have caused some inconvenience and we would like to thank all our customers for your patience and cooperation throughout this period as we continue to invest in the future of Dublin’s tram network.
