How can smallholder farmers boost productivity while reducing environmental impact?🌳 In Indonesia, cocoa farmers face mounting pressures. Ageing trees, soil degradation and monocrop expansion disrupt ecosystems and threaten productivity. Unmanaged cocoa pod waste left to decompose in fields also increases pest and disease risks.   Regenerative agriculture enterprise Kudeungoe Sugata is showing how the industry can tackle these challenges. By strengthening the role of women and young people in cocoa production and turning cocoa waste into organic inputs like biochar and fertiliser, the enterprise is helping make cocoa farming more sustainable.   Hear from Sugata's Julia Doupe and Zakhirul Mustaqim on their insights on building more resilient cocoa supply chains.    Read our insight paper here 💡https://lnkd.in/eaS-YFzR
