This #PESADay, villages across Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh came together to reclaim the spirit of self-governance — through empowered Gram Sabhas, historic policy milestones, and collective action around jal, jangal and jameen. From state-level convergence to strengthen PESA implementation in Madhya Pradesh, to the long-awaited announcement of PESA Rules in Jharkhand, to vibrant Gram Sabhas across Chhattisgarh resolving everyday challenges — PESA came alive as a living system of democracy. At Transform Rural India we are honoured to walk alongside governments, institutions and communities in translating this law into practice — enabling dialogue, building capacities, and designing processes where people shape the systems that shape their lives.
