TransCore is proud to support the South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA) in completing the transition to all-electronic tolling along the Atlantic City Expressway, marking a major milestone in New Jersey’s tolling modernization efforts. This achievement reflects SJTA’s leadership and commitment to delivering a safer, more efficient experience for motorists along one of the state’s most heavily traveled corridors. The 44-mile expressway is now operating as New Jersey’s longest continuous open-road tolling system, enabling fully cashless, uninterrupted travel between the Philadelphia region and the Jersey Shore. As system integrator, TransCore partnered closely with SJTA to design and deliver the all-overhead tolling environment, deploying Infinity® VCATS™, our AI-powered vehicle capture and classification system designed to support accurate, high-speed all-electronic tolling without in-road sensors. “This project reflects SJTA’s commitment to delivering a safer, more efficient experience for motorists while modernizing infrastructure in a way that is practical and sustainable,” said Whitt Hall, President and CEO of TransCore. “Converting a live tolling corridor of this length to an all-electronic tolling system requires careful planning and execution, and the Atlantic City Expressway marks an important step forward in New Jersey’s tolling modernization efforts.” This milestone was made possible through strong collaboration between SJTA and TransCore teams working together to meet an ambitious implementation schedule and ensure a smooth transition to all-electronic tolling as 2026 began. 🔗 Full press release: https://lnkd.in/gtnHUKRj #TransCore #SJTA #AllElectronicTolling #OpenRoadTolling #InfinityVCATS #TransportationTechnology #ITS #SmartInfrastructure
