"The road that connects everything." The theme of this year's Road Haulage Association (RHA) National Lorry Week reminds us that behind every journey is a professional driver keeping people, businesses and communities connected. We're resharing the story of Fani Evans, a truck driver on East Africa's Northern Corridor, where Transaid and North Star Alliance are working together to improve access to healthcare for drivers who spend long periods on the road. After receiving a free eye test and corrective glasses, Fani said: "Now with these glasses, I can check the documents myself. That has more security." By supporting drivers' health and wellbeing, we're helping to improve road safety, strengthen supply chains and keep this vital transport corridor moving.
