King Township continues to embrace emerging technologies to improve service delivery for residents, with water and wastewater staff using cloud-based software, WIMS RIO, to help manage data accurately—making compliance faster, easier and more proactive. As part of this work, the Environmental Services team hosted Canada’s first WIMS RIO workshop on June 10, delivered in partnership with software provider Aquatic Informatics. Municipal water and wastewater professionals gathered at the King Heritage & Cultural Centre to exchange ideas, share best practices and explore new solutions for managing drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and source water data. King staff highlighted the Township’s transformation using WIMS RIO, demonstrating how more accurate, automated and audit-ready data is strengthening day-to-day operations.
