Your caregivers are carrying more than you might realize... ➤ Guilt - for losing patience, for needing a break, for feeling like they're never doing enough. ➤ Loneliness - because unless you've lived it, you can't fully understand what dementia caregiving takes. ➤ Anger - during the difficult moments, when nothing seems to go the way they planned. ➤ Grief - sometimes for residents who are still here, still present, but somehow unreachable. These feelings are nearly universal among dementia caregivers, yet they rarely get named openly. That silence has a cost. Caregivers who don't feel seen in their emotional experience are more likely to burn out, disengage, and eventually leave, taking their skill, their experience, and their relationships with residents with them. Creating space for these feelings and helping caregivers feel validated is what creates a strong care team. What does emotional support for your team look like in practice? We'd love to hear from you 💛👇
