Tourism development in #Chitral remains challenged by security concerns and limited infrastructure, as the Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination reviewed the region’s tourism landscape. The committee was informed that foreign tourists are still required to obtain an #NOC before visiting Chitral, while issues such as limited internet connectivity, inadequate accommodation, weak healthcare facilities, and lack of essential tourist services continue to impact the destination’s growth. Despite these challenges, initiatives including the “Visit Chitral Valley” platform, UNESCO collaboration, tourism brochures, and a “Responsible Tourism” campaign are underway to promote sustainable tourism and preserve the unique culture of the Kalash Valleys.
