The energy transition adds renewables. It also makes reliability harder to maintain. When wind drops, solar dims, or an unexpected event disrupts the grid, something has to absorb the shock ⚡ Combined-cycle gas turbines (CCGTs) are one of the most flexible answers at scale. Dispatched in minutes, capable of running for hours or sitting idle, they're designed to absorb the volatility renewables introduce into the system 🏭 A concrete example: in 2025, our Castejon CCGT in Spain increased its production by around 50% compared to 2024, partly in response to the major outage that hit the Iberian Peninsula in April 2025, when Spain's grid operator called on national gas-fired plants to stabilize the system. Renewable growth and dispatchable gas are complementary parts of how a modern, reliable, lower-carbon grid actually works. #PowerGeneration #GridReliability #EnergyTransition
