Two days, four roundtables, one recurring theme: CFOs are expected to scale finance, but rarely given the resources to do it. At every table, at least one CFO said they're still running FP&A on Excel. Usually because no one approved the budget for anything else. Last week, we hosted discussions on FP&A tools, PE expectations for CFOs, business control in SMEs, and where finance is headed by 2030. The conversations were honest and insightful. One of our highlights at the Finance Executive Nexus in Munich (next to the joy sparked by our lucky wheel, of course) was our live podcast recording on scaling finance under pressure together with Björn Schulmeister.
