This morning, Toronto Centre hosted a roundtable discussion during the Spring Meetings of The World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, titled "Trade, Financial Stability, and Supervision: Systemic Interactions and Policy Implications." This conversation gathered senior representatives from central banks, international financial institutions, government departments, and more high-level agencies. Thank you to Erik Thedéen, Governor, Sveriges riksbank, and Peter Routledge, Superintendent, Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada, for leading the conversation and sharing your insights on how shifts in global trade dynamics are interacting with financial stability and supervisory frameworks, in addition to exploring how evolving trade patterns can transmit shocks through financial systems. Also, thank you to board member Timothy N.J Antoine, Governor, Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, for expertly moderating this exchange of ideas. Thank you to all who attended for your contributions to this timely dialogue.
