Dr. Mitch’s Top Pig of the Month for November 2020-Say hello to KABUS AG01041211, currently the oldest L-line boar at Norsvin Alfa AI stud in Norway. He was born December 23, 2018 in the genetic nucleus herd at Mai and Geir Aannerud. KABUS is maintaining a high total breeding value at 141, and been stable on that level since he was tested at Norsvin Delta in May 2019. The main reason is that he's a strong overall boar genetically, but especially in mothering ability, fertility and longevity. KABUS has been used in US in the L line population, and currently gilts and boars sired by him are tested and to be selected for replacement of the US L- line sow population and AI studs.
