🔬 Antigen-specific immune tolerance mediated by LSECs is unimpaired in liver fibrosis   We’re excited to share a new study led by our collaborators at the Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE), providing important insights into how liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) support peripheral immune tolerance, even in the context of liver fibrosis. The study shows that LSECs maintain their tolerogenic function in liver fibrosis. Specifically, their ability to induce antigen-specific T cell hyporesponsiveness and promote regulatory T cells (Tregs) remains intact. The work also includes in vivo studies using our Topas particle conjugates (TPCs) in fibrotic mouse models. Across different settings, antigen-specific tolerance was preserved. This is a key finding, as it highlights the resilience of TPC-mediated immune tolerance in fibrotic livers. These results strengthen the case for LSECs as a stable target for therapeutic immune modulation and further reinforce the rationale behind our LSEC-targeted TPC platform. Congratulations to our collaborators at UKE and many thanks for the great collaboration on this study.   📖 Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dk7xUWZm   #ImmuneTolerance #LSECs #Autoimmunity #PrecisionMedicine #LiverResearch #LiverFibrosis
