TCC STAFF SYMPOSIUM | Last night, a number of our staff gathered over dinner for our latest Staff Symposium. It was a wonderful evening, with four speakers presenting papers that explored different aspects of a Liberal Arts approach to education. These thought-provoking presentations encouraged staff to reflect and engage in meaningful discussion around the themes presented. On this occasion, we had the privilege of hearing from two members of our Administration staff: Ms Dewhurst, who spoke on the importance of partnering with parents in their child’s educational journey; and Mrs Marsh, who explored the idea of a Liberal Education for all, drawing on insights from Charlotte Mason. We also heard from two members of our Teaching staff: Miss Green, who discussed the importance of holding academic excellence and virtue together in education; and Mr Flemming, who reflected on how Philosophy equips students for the intellectual challenges of the Western world. The evening also included an impressive recital of the 35 verses of Proverbs 3 by Mrs Kennedy. This event continues to be an important part of our College life, providing an opportunity for staff across departments to connect, share, and further explore what it means to be a Christian School in the Liberal Arts Tradition.
