We wrapped up #InclusiveDesignWeek (formerly A11y Week) earlier this week after months of hard work and planning. It was truly a privilege to co-organise this meaningful event with Shawn Kong, a visionary and steady pillar of support throughout the journey. 🫡 It was heartwarming to see such active engagement and receive positive feedback from attendees across 3 days. It's clear there's a growing community that deeply cares about inclusive design and improving the accessibility of government digital services! A big shoutout to our Day 1 speakers: Immanuel G., who masterfully moderated the panel discussion and sparked honest conversations with panellists Kwek Bin Chong, Judy Wee, Dexter Zhao & Meng Ee Wong. Thank you for sharing about your lived experiences and reminding us why inclusive design matters. Yurong Zheng, Chin Wee Koh, Vir Chiniwala & Zui Young Lim for sharing their accessibility journeys behind GovTech Singapore's Singpass and Oobee and how they're building products that truly work for everyone! Goh Bing Qian & Vanessa Ow for walking us through their design process and considerations behind the newly launched A11y Playground. Andrew from GovTech's WOGAA team shared about Inspect Plus. Josh Ferrell tuned in at 1am to share about Figma's accessibility efforts. Josh Tseng for sharing his lived experience and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. Si Qi walked us through some of the inclusive UX research methods she uses in her work in GovTech. Talia O. & Jiayi Guo shared about the importance of user journey mapping for inclusive design. Sangar Annadorai & Mario Kounio shared about prototyping and testing. Royce Cheng & Zhi Hao Seow for the demo of inclusive user testing. Samantha Tan who taught us the importance of structuring better information architecture. Avneet Singh for sharing about Google Gameface. Finally, our closing panel on Impact by Design moderated by Joy Ng alongside panellists Eyung Lim, Angela Tan, Shalom Lim Ern Rong & Amanda.
