🌍 Shaping the Future of Energy Networks: Innovation and Strategy in Asset Management Mid of March was a significant milestone for our international Asset Management community. As we navigate the complexities of the energy transition, the ability to align our long-term strategic investments with cutting-edge technical solutions is what sets us apart. 📍 Day 1: Pushing Technical Boundaries During the meeting of international Asset Management representatives, I had the honor of presenting a unique pilot project concept that is currently unparalleled in the Czech and Slovak regions: the MV/MV Isolation Transformer (ITR) with 1:1 transforming ratio. Inspired by the prestigious CIRED 2021 research ("Improving earth-fault detection performance and supply security of cabled rural MV-Networks with fault isolation"), this project represents a shift in how we handle Single Line-to-Ground (SLG) faults. By implementing a 1:1 ratio ITR with a DZN0 vector group, we can: Isolate Zero Sequence Components: Significantly improving fault detection and supply security. Protect Infrastructure: Ensuring that faults on overhead sections (where SLGs are most frequent) have no impact on the cable sections before the transformer. Optimize Grid Resilience: Effectively "separating" fault-prone rural sections from the core cabled network. 📍 Day 2: StarMAP – A Unified Vision The leadership meeting shifted focus toward StarMAP and the implementation of Copperleaf. By moving toward a unified process aligned with ISO 55001, we are positioning ourselves as "Playmakers" in the industry. Our goal is clear: Efficiently coordinate strategic decisions considering budget, materials, and workforce. Use best-in-class tools to integrate inputs holistically. Allocate capital precisely where it generates the highest system value across all 13 E.ON DSOs. 🤝 The Power of the E.ON Community Sharing best practices between colleagues from Slovakia, Czechia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, and Sweden is our greatest competitive advantage. Whether it is a high-level methodological framework like StarMAP or a specialized technical pilot like the ITR, we are building a more reliable and smarter grid together. Onward to the next phase of standardization and innovation!
