Recently, TOMRA welcomed a high-level delegation from Vietnam to Norway, together with partners including the Norwegian Embassy and UNDP. The delegation was led by a Deputy Minister from Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. It also included the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, as well as representatives from UNDP, the Norwegian Embassy and other partners. The visit brought policy, infrastructure and practical experience into the same conversation. 🤝 The delegation explored extended producer responsibility (#EPR) legal frameworks, how producer responsibility organizations are set up and managed, the role of government in EPR implementation, and solutions for mixed waste sorting and deposit return systems (#DRS). They also looked at broader holistic approaches to resource recovery, where different parts of the system work together instead of being planned in isolation. A visit to Områ, one of the world’s most advanced waste sorting plants, helped bring these ideas to life. The delegation also met with our CEO, Tove Andersen, to discuss further collaboration with Norwegian corporations in support of Vietnam’s circular economy ambitions. The visit builds on the Green Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Norway, and the shared goal of strengthening circular economy cooperation between the two countries. Thank you to the delegation, the Norwegian Embassy, UNDP and everyone involved in making the visit possible.
